Help Choose Skokie's New Village Flag
The village wants your help choosing the new Skokie flag.

SKOKIE, IL — Skokie is asking for the public's help choosing its new Village flag.
In March 2025, the Village Board adopted a new Village seal, replacing the previous seal used since the 1940s. The flag, which depicts the previous seal, now needs an update.
Following a public call for submissions, officials reviewed 79 designs and chose three finalists. Now the public gets to choose which design best reflects the village. Residents can give feedback on Skokie's online survey, which closes March 8.

The first design, submitted by Buddy Boar, was inspired by the "Skokie Spirit" flame depicted in Joe Folise's 178 stained glass at Village Hall and the new village seal.

The second design, submitted by Jasmine Dela Luna and Jeff Meyer, is inspired by Skokie's natural beauty and includes nods to Potawatomi symbolism and references to local nature.

The third design honors the Council of Three Fires — the Ojibwe (Chippewa), Odawa (Ottawa), and Potawatomi tribes — who are historically connected to this region.
