Homeowner Attacked By Intruder in Skokie Garage: Police

A Skokie homeowner was injured during a confrontation with a knife-wielding man in his garage, police say.

SKOKIE, IL - A Skokie homeowner was cut with a knife on his hand and elbow during an altercation that began when he found an unknown man in his attached garage.

Police were called the the 4100 block of Golf Road at 8:29 a.m. on Jan. 22 when the victim called 911 and said he tried to detain the man when he was found.

The suspect threatened to stab the homeowner with a knife, according to police, which caused an altercation that led to the victim’s injuries.

The suspect fled the area on foot and was last seen running south in the 4100 block of Skokiana Terrace. He is described as 18-25 years old with a thin build, 140-170 lbs. And wearing dark “skinny” jeans, a light and dark colored flannel sweater, dark t-shirt, gray work gloves and dark boots.

His eyebrows were black and he also had reddish orange hair, possibly dyed, that was approximately one inch high, according to police.
