Hot Water Death of Skokie 8-Year-Old Under Investigation

A caretaker for an 8-year-old Skokie boy who died Monday is under investigation for the child’s death.
According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, Aiden Bard of the 9000 block of Lacrosse Avenue died from complications of thermal injuries from immersion in hot water. He was pronounced dead on Monday at 12:25 p.m. at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, the Skokie Review reports.
An initial autopsy ruled the death an accident.
