How Much Snow Fell In Skokie During Sudden Snowfall

SKOKIE, IL — A sudden snowstorm hit the Skokie area Wednesday morning, bringing flurries anda small amount of accumulation.

As of 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, between 1 and two inches of snow fell in Skokie, according to the National Weather Service.

A snow squall will continue to move along the IL-IN line through 11 AM resulting in near zero visibility and hazardous travel. During the storm, hundreds of flights were delayed at O'Hare and Midway airports.

Several Chicagoland suburbs also issued warnings to drivers and low visibility and cold temperatures while snow fell. Drivers were urged to give themselves extra time to reach their destinations due to potential hazards.

According to Accuweather, temperatures in Skokie are expected to be in the high 20s on Wednesday and Thursday, with a slightly warmer day on Friday. Snow is expected to pick back up starting Friday and through the weekend.
