IL Science and Tech Park Hosts STEM Career Awareness Day

High schoolers from throughout Chicagoland learned about STEM subjects at Illinois Science + Technology Park in Skokie last week.

SKOKIE, IL - Seventy high schoolers from 54 Chicago and suburban high schools participated in pharmaceutical company Fresenius Kabi's first ever STEM Career Awareness Day at the Illinois Science + Technology Park in Skokie last week.

According to a news release, the event included a series of presentations by Fresenius Kabi employees in science, quality and engineering disciplines. Students were exposed to "a variety of interactive experiments, including setting salt on fire, making gummy bears and working with liquid nitrogen."

The STEM program at Fresenius Kabi is one of many that help encourage interest in STEM subjects as high schoolers continue their education and careers.
