Lieberman Center Sued for Negligence
A woman claims her mother sustained injuries while there and died during physical therapy.

The Lieberman Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Skokie has been named in a lawsuit initiated by a woman who claims the center’s negligence led to her 88-year-old mother’s death last year.
Nancy Pomis filed the suit last month in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Boris Sheynin and the Council for Jewish Elderly alleging negligence and wrongful death, according to The Cook County Record.

The complaint states Pomis’ mother, Margaret Dathan, suffered from several illnesses including hypertension, dementia and hearing loss while residing at Lieberman in 2013 and 2014.
Dathan suffered a hip injury during a fall in February of 2014 and died during physical therapy a month later, according to the suit.

Pomis seeks damages of $50,000 plus litigation costs.
