Subaru’s year-end sales event has always featured five national charities. The car maker donates $250 for every Subaru sold during the year-end clearance event. This year, some Subaru dealers picked a sixth charity, a local charity, to be eligible for the $250 donation.
Evanston Subaru in Skokie picked the Evanston Community Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.) as the sixth charity. The other eligible charities are Make a Wish, Meals on Wheels, National Park Foundation, ASPCA and Teach for America. The Subaru Share the Love Event runs through January 2, 2014. The Subaru buyer gets to pick which charity receives the $250 donation.
Kari Kennedy, a CARE volunteer says their organization is definitely promoting the $250 donation to its members. “So many of our members already drive Subarus, so this $250 donation will make our members happy, and maybe move forward their buying decisions to help us. Subarus and dogs go together it seems.” Kennedy said.
