Lunar New Year Celebration to Support the Food Pantry
Join MWRD Commissioner Josina Morita to celebrate the Year of the Rat on January 19, 2020

Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Commissioner Josina Morita is pleased to announced the Second Annual Lunar New Year fundraiser to benefit the Niles Township Food Pantry on January 19, 2020 at the Oakton Community Center (4701 Oakton St., Skokie) from 2-4 p.m.. Tickets are $10 per individual or $20 for a family.
The event will include Asian food from local restaurants, dance performances, and crafts for children. Please join Josina and other community leaders to celebrate the Year of the Rat and help raise funds for the Niles Township Food Pantry. We will also be collecting wrapped toilet paper and diapers because these essentials cannot be purchased with EBT cards. The Niles Township Food Pantry hosts nearly 2,000 families from Skokie, Lincolnwood, Morton Grove, and Niles each month. During the 2019 holiday season, more than 2,000 turkeys, 100 hams, and four pallets of potatoes were distributed to people in need throughout our community. Your direct financial support allows the pantry to procure items beyond canned food at a discounted rate, and supports healthier options for many more people.
