Mayor Takes First Bite at Old Orchard Shake Shack
The popular 'roadside' burger stand opened in Skokie on Wednesday.
Shake Shack opened its third Chicagoland location Wednesday at 4999 Old Orchard Center in Skokie’s Westfield Old Orchard Mall, and Mayor George Van Dusen was there to take the first bite.
According to a news release, Shake Shack is “a critically acclaimed, modern day ’roadside’ burger stand known for its 100% all-natural, antibiotic-free Angus beef burgers (no hormones added ever), griddled flat-top dogs from Vienna Beef, fresh-made frozen custard, crispy crinkle cut fries, local craft beer and wine and more.”
During Wednesday’s grand opening, Old Orchard Shake Shack served menu staples such as the Shack-cago Dog, ShackBurger, chocolate shakes and crinkle cut fries, as well new menu items, like the Cookie Dough County (chocolate custard, chocolate truffle cookie dough, caramel sauce and sugar cone cookie) and the Crunch-stellation (vanilla custard, Valrhona chocolate crunchies, chocolate toffee and malt powder).
