More Than 70 D219 Students Visit College Campuses on "Day Off"

Students visited Carroll University and the University of Wisconsin.

On Friday, March 3, during the D219 Institute Day, 77 junior students from Niles North and Niles West gave up a "day off" of school to visit two college campuses in Wisconsin. The students had the opportunity to visit a small private college, Carroll University, and a large public institution, University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Education Foundation, two coach buses and lunch were provided for the students. For many of the juniors this was their first time visiting a college campus. The students were able to tour both colleges and hear admission presentations, and financial aid and scholarship presentations from college experts. The students proved to be great ambassadors for D219, and are excited to begin their college search!

Many thanks to Happi Bills, Missy Frazin, Dan Gin, Allegra Giulietti-Schmitt, Stephanie Lau, and Jerry Pope, for accompanying the students. Special kudos to the Education Foundation and D219 administration for their on-going support of the college visit program.
