More Lighting Coming to 2 Skokie Neighborhoods
Project to brighten village streets will cost village nearly $400K.

SKOKIE, IL - More street lighting is coming to at least two areas of the village in the near future.
The Village Board agreed to spend nearly $400,000 to brighten up two areas, according to the Skokie Review. One is bordered by Oakton St. to the south, Main St. to the north, Skokie Blvd. to the west and Kenton Ave. to the east. The other borders Dempster St. on the south, Church St. on the north, Gross Point Road on the west and Niles Center Road on the east.

The plan calls for 54 new concrete poles to take shape in east-west pathways and 18 to replace existing ComEd poles in intersections.
Home Town Electric of Lake Villa will perform the work.
