New Slides Bring More People to Skokie Pools

Skokie Park District credits new amenities, good weather for uptick in popularity at community pools.

SKOKIE, IL - Two new twisting and turning slides have been added to the Skokie Water Playground at Oakton Park and the Devonshire Aquatic Center at Devonshire Park this year.

That, in addition to significantly better weather this summer than last, has resulted in an uptick of people using the Skokie Park District’s pools, according to the Skokie Review.

The two facilities usually draw about 100,000 visitors a year, but this year’s number is expected to be in the 125,000 range.
