Niles Township Officials Among Participants at TOI’s Annual Conference

Niles Township was represented at the Township Officials of Illinois annual conference in Springfield, Illinois.

Niles Township Supervisor Marilyn D. Glazer, Deputy Clerk and Administrator Kitty Kendrick, Township Attorney Van Schwab, and Trustee Janice Cichowlas attended the 2016 Annual Educational Conference, sponsored by the Township Officials of Illinois (TOI) on November 13-15, 2016 in Springfield.

This year’s conference, titled “Township Government: neighbors serving neighbors” brought together township officials from across the state to attend sessions covering the latest developments in local government management, fiscal practices, general assistance, legislation, and other issues affecting local government.

Some noteworthy topics covered at the 2016 Conference included preparing for the 2017 election, township budget, government consolidation, developing township programs, township record keeping, prevailing wage, and the general parliamentary procedure in township government.

The 109-year-old Township Officials of Illinois is comprised of nearly 11,000 officials from 1,431 townships throughout 85 counties in Illinois.

Since 1850, Niles Township Government has been dedicated to improving life for its residents. Niles Township is located in the northeast corner of Cook County. With a population of over 105,000 the Township includes the villages of Skokie, Lincolnwood and Golf, and sections of Morton Grove, Niles and Glenview.
