Niles West Debate Has Two NSDA Academic All Americans

Two Niles West debaters were recognized for their high academic standing and participation in debate by the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) and received the Academic All American Award. Seniors Freskida Sejdiu and Hannah Kim earned certificates and pins for their academic and competitive accomplishments. Additionally, their names will appear on a perpetual plaque in the debate classroom. Niles West Principal Dr. Karen Ritter came to the classroom to celebrate with the students. Debate Coach Eric Oddo said, “We're extremely grateful for Dr. Ritter's support of the students and the debate team, and we hope to continue our legacy of academic achievers on the Niles West debate team for years to come. Niles West Debate has received thirteen NSDA Academic All American awards in the last ten years. It illustrates that the coaches and students of West debate know what comes first: excelling in school.”
