Nine-Month Investigation In Skokie Nabs Serial Burglar: Police
A Chicago man was charged with five felony counts in connection with a string of overnight burglaries last year at Skokie businesses.

SKOKIE, IL — A Chicago man has been charged with carrying out a series of late-night burglaries last year at convenience stores and gas stations in Skokie, police said.
Deiel Reese, 46, of the 11000 block of South Wentworth Avenue, Chicago, was arrested Thursday and charged with five counts of burglary following a nine-month investigation, according to a statement from Skokie police.
Police said the investigation began when police were called to multiple burglaries during overnight hours at local stores starting on April 8, 2019. The burglaries continued throughout the month, according to police.

It was not immediately clear how Reese was identified as a suspect during the investigation, but the department's statement crediting "months of diligence and hard work" by detectives and evidence technicians with the arrest.

Reese appeared at a bond hearing Friday, where a judge ordered him held in lieu of the $2,500 cash portion of his bail ahead of his next court appearance Feb. 4, according to police and court records.
