Featured obituary:

Dr. Satish C. Saxena, age 84, resident of Skokie for 50 years, died November 24, 2018 at NorthShore Evanston Hospital.

He began his career by earning a PhD in Physics from Calcutta University at age 22 and ended it as an Emeritus Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Illinois, Chicago, where he worked from 1968 to 1998.

During his time as a professor, he was an active researcher who authored more than 500 research papers, 5 books, and 25 book chapters.

He was born in Lucknow, India to Raja Ram Sinha and Vidya Wati Saxena. Beloved husband of Asha Saxena; dear father of Alka (Vijay) Kudesia, Alok (Monisha) Saxena, Anup (Shalini) Saxena, and Anil (Seema) Saxena; loving grandfather of Rashmi Pabari, Ravi Kudesia, Rajeev Saxena, Alisha Saxena, Riya Saxena, Isar Saxena, Nikita Saxena, Amisha Saxena, and Yash Saxena.

Memorial service: Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Haben Funeral Home, 8057 Niles Center Road in Skokie
