Mosquito Spraying Continues In Skokie

The North Shore Mosquito Abatement District will conduct targeted adult mosquito control operations in portions of Skokie on Wednesday

The North Shore Mosquito Abatement District will be conducting targeted adult mosquito control operations in portions of Skokie on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., weather permitting. The spraying will also take place in portions of Evanston, Glenview and Morton Grove, according to the district.

Glencoe last week became the 12th North Shore municipality to test positive for West Nile virus when a batch of mosquitoes collected last Wednesday tested positive in the lab on Friday.

You can find out how many positive batches have been detected compared to how many samples have been collected in each northern Cook County town on the North Shore Mosquito Abatement District website.

So far this year, positive batches of mosquitoes have been found in district traps in every municipality in the district.
