Oakton Street Road Construction - April 10, 2019
Two sections of Oakton Street in Downtown Skokie will be under construction on Wednesday, April 10.
On Wednesday, April 10, there will be two areas
of construction on Oakton Street in Downtown Skokie:
A private contractor working for Nicor Gas will
continue conducting utility investigations on Oakton Street just west of Skokie
Boulevard. This will require closure of one lane of eastbound traffic on Oakton
Street between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Lane closures are expected to continue between
9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
In addition, the Skokie Public Works Department will be repairing the water
main on LaCrosse Avenue at Oakton Street. The eastbound curb lane on Oakton
Street at LaCrosse Avenue will be closed and diverted to the left lane during
this repair. LaCrosse Avenue will be closed in both directions from Oakton
Street to Louise Avenue. Both left and right turns from Oakton Street onto
LaCrosse Avenue will be prohibited. Lane closures are expected to continue
through the end of the day.
