Cary J. Shevin, of Skokie, passed away on Jan. 16 at the age of 81. Shevin was the beloved husband of Harriette née Ellman, the loving father of Bonni (Jeff) Sandy and the late Phillipp Shevin, the proud grandfather of Evan, Brandon and Zachary, the dear brother of Neal Shevin and Pam Levy and cherished uncle and friend of many.
Born April 12, 1936, Shevin was the chairman of the board of Dard Products Inc. He was an icon in the promotional product industry. Founded by Cary's father Jack out of the family garage in 1946, Dard today operates a unionized factory in Evanston with more than 200 full time employees.
A service will be held Friday, Jan. 19 at noon at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd., Skokie.
