Mark your calendars now for November 15-17. If you want to have a great time, the Days of the Dead convention will be taking place in Schaumburg. As always, it promises to be a blast!
I recently attended my fourth Days con (three in Indianapolis and one in Schaumburg). The convention just keeps getting better and it shows no signs of slowing down. Promoter Adolfo simply will not allow the convention to be anything less than a fun-filled, awesome experience.
At the latest Days, I witnessed Hall of Fame rocker Lita Ford give an impromptu performance of her song Close My Eyes Forever, when a fan brought his guitar for her to sign. He walked away with a once-in-a-lifetime moment, as did all of us onlookers.
You won't see this happen often or at all at any other convention. Obviously, Lita was a great guest, but a great guest who was picked by Adolfo, in another of his wise decisions. I have met hundreds of celebrities at Days and have never had a bad experience. Once again, I applaud the celebrities, but I also applaud Adolfo for making it this way.
I told Lita that I had never seen anything like her performance. Then, she did a video for me in which she promoted her latest musical release Living Like a Runaway.
Actress Linda Blair saw what I was doing and she gave me a short video on behalf of the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation. Linda and the LBWHF do great work with animals. She appears at these conventions to raise awareness and money for the foundation. I am only too glad to help spread the word.
We also talked to Roddy Piper, one of my all-time favorites. Roddy always has a long line at his table. The line also moves slowly, because Roddy takes time to make the moment special for every fan. Despite the wait, there are never complaints. It is well worth the extra few minutes.
I could go on and on and on. There are so many great moments I had. I talked to actor Chris Sarandon about an important project of his. Actress Heather Langenkamp was her usual sweet self. I have to stop myself.
You can check out the interviews I did to get some interesting info from the celebrities. That should further pique your interest. I am already counting the days to Days in Schaumburg (120 days to be exact).
There are a lot of excellent celebrity conventions. I go to as many as I can. Days of the Dead is special though. I always make sure I go and I hope to see you there!
