At a charity kickball game last summer, Resistance Pro Wrestling's C Red told me about a vision he had to reach out to the area youth. Several months later, I saw the debut of the Positive Outreach Program (POP). Since then, I have seen it grow and flourish.
I was at the first POP event and C Red surprisingly asked me to speak, along with the wrestlers and R Pro management. This is typical C Red, getting everyone involved all for the common good.
Within R Pro, C Red is a broadcaster, manager, producer and more. He is all over the place and well-respected and liked by all. He is a big part of making each R Pro event great.
As important as he is to R Pro in those capacities, he is equally important as the leader of POP. He is supported by management, helped by wrestlers and staffers and appreciated by friends, family and fans. Everyone plays a part and helps POP succeed, but C Red is the spearhead!
POP events have included wrestlers talking, playing interactive games with students and actually having some wrestling matches. The flexibility of POP is another plus. POP's events can be as big or as small as is workable within the school.
POP has held several events since it debuted. Thousands of youngsters have attended the various POP events. C Red has stated that POP is a success if even one student is positively affected.
POP far exceeds that hope every time. The students' looks and reactions tell the story. POP is making a difference.
POP also has a positive reaction on the POP crew, too. As a proud member, I can tell you that I have been positively affected, too, as has every other person involved. We get chills at the events and warm fuzziness for days after each event.
It all goes back to C Red though. He is not content with being a success in the wrestling business. He wants to use that notoriety to make a difference in the lives of today's youth. He wants R Pro to be more than a wrestling company. C Red is accomplishing all of these goals.
I wanted to use this space to thank C Red. Actions like this deserve as much attention as possible. Please watch the interview below. It was my honor to talk to C Red and to help spread the word about POP.
