Outdoor Painting Event Returns to Skokie This Summer

"Plein air" program will take place at Emily Oaks Nature Center in July.

‘Brush with Nature,’ an outdoor painting event organized by Anatomically Correct, will take place on Sunday, July 12 at Emily Oaks Nature Center, 4670 Brummel Ave. in Skokie.

The “plein air” program welcomes visitors to gather and watch professional artists paint plein air style (a French term which means out in the open).

Anatomically Correct Founder and Program Director, Debra Hatchett explains, “It’s almost like live theatre – or performance art,” said Debra Hatchett, Correct Founder and Program Director for Anatomically Correct, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. “It is so much fun to see how an artist works and enjoy the magic of having a painting appear right in front of your eyes.”
