Pace Holds Open Houses For Dempster Pulse Project

Public meetings are being held this week in Skokie and Des Plaines for the new express bus route connecting O'Hare and Evanston.

SKOKIE, IL — Pace bus is holding open houses to review its planned new station locations and conceptual plans for its Pulse Dempster Line. Construction on new stations for an the express bus line between O'Hare and Evanston is set to begin next year and become operational in 2020, according to Pace Suburban Bus.

The new line will connect the CTA's Blue, Purple and Yellow lines, along a 17-stop new express bus line through Chicago, Des Plaines, Evanston, Morton Grove, Niles, Park Ridge, Rosemont and Skokie. The Pace 250 bus will continue operating.

The Dempster Line will become Pace's the second operational Pulse line, following its Milwaukee Line due to begin service this year. The Pulse lines promise enhanced service with the "latest technology and streamlined route design." The new buses will include free Wi-Fi and signage with real-time arrival information, according to Pace.

The project has received a $10 million grant from the Federal Congestion Mitigation Air Quality program for 2018-2022.

Pace invited the community to two informational open house sessions from 5 to 7 p.m.:
