Pedestrian Hospitalized With Life-Thretening Injuries After Hit-And-Run On Edens Expressway
A man was arrested on suspicion of fleeing the scene of multiple crashes on the Edens Expressway this week.

SKOKIE, IL — The Illinois State Police arrested a man who is suspected of fleeing the scene of a crash that hospitalized a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.
At about 4:47 a.m. on Feb. 1, ISP troopers received a report of multiple crashes on Interstate 94 near Church Street in Skokie. In one of the crashes, an occupant left their vehicle after the crash and was struck by the suspect's vehicle before it fled the scene.
The victim was taken to an area hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries due to the crash. Their current status is unknown.

ISP Special Agents investigated the crashes and identified the suspect driver as 30-year-old Damian Lopez of Beach Park. Lopez was arrested on Feb. 2 on suspicion of leaving the scene of a personal injury crash (Class 4 felony) and failure to report a personal injury crash (Class 2 felony).
Lopez was held at the Cook County Jail pending his first court appearance.
