Pickpockets at Mall and Panera: Skokie Police Blotter

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from Skokie Police Department reports.
BURGLARY OF MOTOR VEHICLE
Sometime between 4:39 a.m. and 4:55 a.m. on Feb. 5 a car was robbed on the 8500 block of Skokie Boulevard. The suspect was described as a white male possibly wearing a light colored jacket with hood, dark colored pants and dark colored gloves. He allegedly broke the rear door lock of a van to gain entry and steal a victim's tools before leaving the area in a dark colored older model SUV.

BURGLARY OF MOTOR VEHICLE
An unknown male subject used a punch tool to gain access to the victim's vehicle door lock mechanism, unlocking the door and then entering the vehicle and stealing sunglasses at 4999 Old Orchard Road, Westfield Old Orchard, between Jan. 22 at 4:08 p.m. and Jan. 23 at 8:00 a.m.

BURGLARY
On Feb. 3 between 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on the 5100 block of Birchwood, someone used brute force to gain entry to the residence.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone used an unknown object to break out a rear car window on the 4900 block of Grove Street, sometime between Feb. 4 at 3:00 p.m. and Feb. 5 at 8:00 a.m.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A note threatening harm was placed on the windshield of a victim's car on the 9000 block of Lacrosse Avenue on February 2 between 1:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
IDENTITY THEFT
On the 8600 block of Skokie Boulevard, between January 31 at 5:06 p.m. and February 3 at 7:06 a.m., someone fraudulently obtained a victim's credit card information and made numerous unauthorized online purchases.
On the 8300 block of Monticello Avenue, on February 2 at 2:30 p.m. someone used a victim's personal information to obtain credit and make multiple fraudulent purchases.
RETAIL THEFT
A suspect described as a Hispanic man stole two jackets from the Eddie Bauer store at 4999 Old Orchard Road on February 3 at 7:25 p.m.
THEFT
While dining at Panera on 9611 Skokie Boulevard, Panera, on Feb. 3 between 12:50 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., a victim had her wallet stolen. An black woman wearing a beige hat, maroon and beige scarf, black coat, black pants, and light shirt was accompanied by a black man subject approximately 200 lbs., wearing a black knit hat, black pants, black coat, and black framed glasses, according to the victim's report. The male sat directly behind the victim and stole the victim's wallet from her purse, and both subjects immediately made fraudulent purchases after the theft, police said.
THEFT
Two black women, described as 33-36 years old, 135 lbs., one with a shaved head and one with long hair, stole the victim's wallet from her jacket pocket at Free People, on 4999 Old Orchard Road, Feb. 3 between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and fraudulently used her credit and debit cards throughout the mall.
THEFT OF SERVICES
A woman exited a taxi without paying for services on the 10000 block of Old Orchard Court, on February 3 at 11:25 a.m.
