medicine and chief of gastroenterology at Loyola

, speaks April 6th at 10:30 a.m. at the Ethical Humanist Society of
Chicago
, 7574 North Lincoln Avenue in Skokie. Her topic is,  “Power of the Microbiome: How Our Gut
Bacteria Keep Us Healthy
.” Hecht will describe the co-evolution of our
bodies and the trillions of bacteria in our intestinal tract. She will discuss
how this symbiosis extends human metabolic and physiologic capacity and keeps
us healthy.
