Powering Your Home with the Sun – A Program at the Skokie Public Library
This is for homeowners interested in learning how solar energy works and learning how to begin to evaluate solar options for the home.

Join the Skokie Telecommunications Advisory Commission and the Sustainable Environmental Advisory Commission on Saturday, November 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Skokie Public Library for a program dedicated to residential solar power.
As solar technology gains popularity, more homeowners are starting to generate some or all of their power using clean renewable energy while taking advantage of energy cost savings. One option for suburban home owners is solar energy. Homeowners interested in learning how solar energy works, how to begin evaluating solar options for the home, and getting information about local resources, are encouraged to register for this free education event at the Skokie Public Library.
Peter Gorr of the Illinois Solar Energy Association (ISEA) will be the presenter for this program. Mr. Gorr converted his home to solar generated electricity in 2011 and will use his experience to detail the process and showcase the results.

Weather permitting, this event also includes an opportunity to interact with the ISEA’s solar house display on the Village Green, just east of the library for a hands-on learning experience about solar energy.
Due to seating capacity, registrations for this program are required. To register, contact the Skokie Public Library at 847/673-7774.
