A Chicago police officer was accidentally shot in the leg by a fellow officer while dealing with a vicious dog, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The newspaper reported that the shooting occured in the Englewood neighborhood when two police officers and a supervisor were confronted by a charging dog on the second-floor landing of a building in the 1200 block of West 72nd Place. The Tribune reported that the 42-year-old officer was in good condition at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital.
