Runner From Skokie Finishes Boston Marathon

BOSTON, MA - A runner from Skokie was among the thousands to finish the Boston Marathon on Monday.

Ron Tiongson, a veteran Marathoner, finished with a time of 3 hours, 18 minutes, 12 seconds Monday afternoon. He was among the first 5,000 to cross the finish line, placing 4,467th in his age group and 524th in his age/gender bracket, which is Men 45-49.

The top three finishers were Ethiopians. Lemi Berhanu Hayle won the Men’s Marathon, besting defending champ Lelisa Desisa at 2:12:45, very modest for a Boston-winning time. Adhane Tsegay clocked in at 2:14:02.

Tiongson completed the first half of the marathon in 01:39, 29 and later crossed the finish line at 1:18 p.m. Boston time. He paced 07:34 a mile.
