Burglary from Motor Vehicle
On the 7800 block of Terminal Avenue, Saturday January 28 at 5:43 pm, someone used a sharp tool to break the window of a van and steal various items. At the same time and same location, police said someone used a sharp tool to break the right rear windows of two cars and stole items.
Multiple break-ins were reported at the 7000 Carpenter Road parking lot for the AMC Showplace Village Crossing 18 over the weekend. Between 6:40 pm and 9:45 pm Saturday, someone punctured a hole in a car door underneath the driver's side door handle and managed to unlock the vehicle, police said. Three pairs of black Ray-Ban sunglasses were stolen. A second car was broken into at the same location, as someone used a sharp tool to break the driver's side door handle of a vehicle. The burglar(s) managed to make off with several items including a bass guitar from the trunk of the car.

The following day, more cars were reported burglarized in the same parking lot. Between 11:55 am and 2:39 pm, someone used a sharp tool to break the driver's side rear window of a car and steal a briefcase. Also Sunday, between 12:40 pm and 2:57 pm, someone broke the driver's side rear window and the trunk window of the victim's vehicle and stole a pillow. And between 12:50 pm and 3:10 pm the same day, someone broke the driver side front and rear windows to gain access to a car and removed numerous items including cash and a cell phone, according to police.

At 7016 Carpenter Road, Shallots Bistro, Saturday between 6:30 pm and 10:30 pm, someone broke into a car with a sharp tool, gained access and several stole credit cards, which were later used at Chicago and Oak Brook businesses.
Burglary
On the 7000 block of Leclaire Avenue, Saturday between 5:15 pm and 5:45 pm, someone used a pry tool to force the side door open and gain access to a home. No items were immediately reported missing.
On the 5000 block of Main Street, on Saturday between 6:00 pm and 10:18 pm, someone used an unknown tool to force open the side door of the residence and gain access. No items were immediately reported missing.
On the 4800 block of Mulford Street, Monday between 7:20 am and 8:50 am, someone used a pry tool to force the door open on the victim's detached garage, but nothing was reported taken.
On the 4500 block of Howard Street, sometime Saturday or Sunday, someone entered a detached garage and stole a drill.
Criminal Damage
On the 9000 block of Lamon Avenue, between Friday at 6:30 pm and Saturday at 8:45 am, someone used a sharp object to damage the victim's rear passenger side car tire.
At the Walmart, located at 3626 Touhy Avenue, Sunday afternoon, someone used a sharp object to damage the victim's front passenger car tire.
Identity Theft
On the 5100 block of Wright Terrace, on Wednesday, January 25 at midnight, a fraudulent purchase was made using a victim's credit card.
On the 9500 block of Keeler Avenue, January 13 or 14, someone made fraudulent purchases and attempted to open credit accounts with a victim's credit card.
On the 9000 block of Lincolnwood Drive, between December 21 and January 16, someone used stolen credit information to make fraudulent purchases.
Retail Theft
Inside the CVS location at 3434 Dempster Street, Saturday shortly before 7 am, a 25 - 35 year old, 140 to 170 lb. Hispanic man wearing a black and red baseball hat, black winter coat with light gray hooded pullover sweater under the coat, dark colored jeans, and dark colored gym shoes, stole approximately 25 cosmetic items, police said.
Theft
On the 4900 block of Dempster Street, Friday morning around 7:30 am, someone stole a laptop computer from a construction site.
At 9310 Kenton Avenue, Old Orchard Junior High, shortly before 8:00 am on January 17, someone stole a juvenile victim's backpack containing a wallet, money, and a school issued iPad.
