Skokie Crime: Car Stolen, iPhone Snatched

The stolen car was unlocked with the keys inside. An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

Motor Vehicle Theft
Someone stole a light blue, 1998 Ford Taurus, which was parked in a parking lot on the 7600 block of Keeler Avenue, between 6 and 11:50 p.m. July 8. The owner left the vehicle unlocked with the keys on the floor in front of the driver's seat.

Burglary from a Motor Vehicle
Someone removed several power tools from a 2007 Toyota Tundra truck, which was parked on the street on the 4300 block of Madison Street, between July 5 at 6 p.m. and July 8 at 7 a.m. The truck was entered by unknown means.

Theft
Someone removed a woman’s Apple 4S cell phone from her purse while in line at Potbelly's restaurant at Old Orchard at 11:15 a.m. July 8. The offender was described as a male black in his 40s, 5'6", bald, average build, and wearing a beige shirt.

Someone removed a black Trek bicycle from the residential back yard on the 8200 block of Lotus Avenue, between July 7 at 11:30 p.m. and July 8 at 2 p.m.
