Skokie Crime: Pickpockets, Tequila Thieves and Car Break-Ins

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of police activity. Criminal charges are often dropped or reduced and all defendants are presumed innocent until their guilt is established in a court of law.
SHOPLIFTING
Sometime on March 18 around 2:23 a.m., at 9449 Skokie Boulevard, two Hispanic men and two Hispanic women entered the store. One man pushed the gate and shopping carts to gain entry into the liquor section. The man then concealed a bottle of tequila in his coat and walked past the last point of purchase without paying. All subjects were described as being in their 20's and were last seen fleeing the store in a white Honda Civic.

BURGLARY
Someone cut the lock off of a storage unit and removed several items the Public Storage at 8050 McCormick Boulevard, between March 14 at 3:26 p.m. and March 18 at 3:26 p.m.

Sometime between March 17 at 9:00 p.m. and March 18 at 9:30 a.m., someone cut and raised the screen on a basement window then reached in and removed video games that were on the window shelf on the 9100 block of Niles Center Road.
Someone entered a victim's unlocked car and vehicle and stole the handicap placard between February 14 at 3:00 p.m. and February 18 at 10:00 a.m. on the 9400 block of Skokie Boulevard.
A man entered a victim's unlocked car and stole a wallet and a checkbook on the 9400 block of Skokie Boulevard, on March 17 between 10:03 a.m. and 2:30 p.m..
Someone gained entry to a victim's vehicle and ransacked the center console on the 8600 block of Keeler Avenue, on March 18 between 2:40 p.m. and 9:02 p.m..
Someone entered a victim's vehicle and removed a wallet containing several items at 4999 Old Orchard Center, on March 18 between 5:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m..
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone shattered a glass window on a patio door using a pellet gun sometime between Feb 14 at 12:00 p.m. and March 9 at 12:00 p.m. on the 8900 block of Kenton Avenue,
PICKPOCKETS
Someone stole a victim's wallet from her unattended coat pocket which was hanging on the back of a chair at the Illinois Education Association, 8833 Gross Point Road, on March 14 at 4:05 p.m..
Someone stole a victim's wallet while it was left unattended on a chair with her coatat Home Goods at 9701 Skokie Boulevard, on March 18 between 3:12 p.m. and 3:15 p.m..
IDENTITY THEFT
Someone used a victim's personal information to open multiple accounts on the 5200 block of Oakton Street, on March 6 at 4:00 p.m..
Someone used a victim's personal information to open an account on the 5300 block of Fairview Lane, between March 7 at 3:00 p.m. and March 16 at 6:30 p.m.
