Skokie Crime: Van Set On Fire—Twice

Arson

Someone used a lighter to start a disabled 1998 Dodge Caravan on fire on the 9000 block of Keating Avenue, on July 19 at 1:49 a.m., and then returned at 8:47 a.m. to re-start the fire.

Criminal Damage to Property

Someone used an unknown object to smash out the rear window of a 2008 Toyota Camry on the 8200 block of Knox Avenue on July 18 at 11:39 a.m.

Someone punctured the tires on a 2012 Mustang while it was parked in the rear of the building on the 8900 block of Bronx Avenue, between  July 19 at 11 p.m. and July 20 at 1:30 p.m.

Criminal Defacement of Property

Someone used black and white spray paint to write the word "Swift" on the exterior wall of a building on the 8800 block of Bronx Avenue on July 19 at 1:50 a.m.

Burglary from Motor Vehicle

Someone entered an unlocked 2002 Mazda on the 4300 block of Lee Street, on July 20 at 12:45 p.m. and removed various items from the vehicle.  

Theft 

Someone removed the front license plate from a gray 2004 Infiniti while it was parked in a lot at Lifetime Fitness on July 19 at 11 a.m.

Theft of Lost Property 

A victim reported that an unknown person took her iPhone after she accidently left it in the bathroom area of Nordstrom's on July 20 at 8 p.m. 

Driving With a Suspended/Revoked License

Juan Silva, 23, of Chicago, was arrested on charges of driving on a suspended/revoked driver's license on the 9100 block of McCormick Boulevard on July 19.

Jeremy Johnson, 20, of Broadview, was arrested on charges of driving on a suspended/revoked driver's license, on the 4700 block of Greenwood Street on July 20.

Maria Herrera, 33, of Chicago, was arrested on charges of driving on a suspended/revoked driver's license on the 5300 block of Fargo Avenue on July 20.

Driving Without a Valid Driver's License

Alfredo Mendoza-Ramos, 34, of Chicago, was arrested on charges of driving without a valid driver’s license on the 5300 block of Church Street on July 19. 

Mayra Paredes, 30, of Chicago, was arrested on charges of driving without a valid driver's license on the 4400 block of Main Street on July 19.

Jaime Rodriguez, 36, of Chicago, was arrested on charges of driving without a valid driver's license on the 3700 block of Oakton Street on July 19.

Possession of Cannabis

Marlon Cespedes Solano 20, of Skokie, was arrested on charges of possession of cannabis on the 4900 block of Hull Street July 19.

Possession of Cannabis and DUI

Vashon Banks, 38, of Evanston, was arrested on DUI and possession of cannabis charges on the 3200 block of Oakton Street July 20.

Arrest on Warrant

Jeron Marquez, 27, of Evanston, was arrested on a Skokie warrant on the 1400 block of Elmwood in Evanston, on July 20
