Skokie Obituary: Dr. Stanton Gordon Polin, 84
A surgeon, commander and robot expert is being remembered in Skokie.

Dr. Stanton Gordon Polin, was born Jan. 24, 1933 to Dorothy and Abe Polin, raised and educated in Chicago. Dr. Polin was a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon at many area hospitals.
Drafted during the Vietnam War and serving as Chief of Surgery at the US Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, VA, he retired as a Commander with 23 years of service.
In retirement, he volunteered as a science researcher at the Museum of Science and Industry and was a member of the Skokie Board of Health.

As a winter resident of Boynton Beach, Florida he lectured frequently on robots, medical subjects and history.
He was the beloved husband of Leah nee Goldstein, the loving father of Abby Polin Reisler, Bonnie (Richard) Pomper, Brian (Gal) Polin and Jonathan (Rachel Goldberg) Polin, the proud grandfather of Madison and Emily Reisler, Yael, Natan and Eytan Pomper, Ely, Orian, Nohar, Avishai, Roey and Harel Polin, Hersh, Leebie and Orly Goldberg Polin and the dear brother of Rabbi Milton (Shainee) Polin.

Arrangements have been made by Chicago Jewish Funerals – Skokie Chapel (847.229.8822)
Service at Tuesday, May 16, noon at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd (at Niles Center Road), Skokie.
Interment at Waldheim Jewish Cemetery, 1400 South Des Plaines Avenue, Forest Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hadassah-Chicago North Shore, or any Jewish school of your choice.
