Local police will keep a close eye on synagogues, the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Old Orchard Mall.

Police in Skokie have increased patrols in certain areas of the village following the terrorist attacks in Paris last week.

According to an ABC-7-Chicago report, an alert has been issued to increase patrols around synagogues, the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Old Orchard Mall. Other places of worship and shopping centers are also part of the alert.

While there’s no specific threat, the actions have been taken out of “an abundance of caution.”
