3 In Custody After Shots Fired In Skokie Robbery Attempt: Police
The report of shots fired put a nearby school and community center into a soft lockdown Friday morning.

SKOKIE, IL — Shots were fired in during an attempted armed robbery Friday morning in Skokie, police said. No one was hurt in the shooting, which led to the soft lockdown of a nearby school and community center, according to a release. Skokie police said they took three people into custody. Shortly before 9:23 a.m., police got reports of gunfire in the 9100 block of Lawler Avenue, according to a release.
Police said they found a person who had just been the victim of an attempted armed robbery and confirmed that gunshots had been fired without anyone being hit.
Children at the nearby Mayer Kaplan Jewish Community Center, to the north, and Jane Stenson School, to the west, went into their soft lockdown procedures after the report of shots fired, according to police.

Some time later, police took three people into custody. Their identities have not been released and police did not confirm if all three they were separate from the victim. Police did not say who allegedly fired the shots.
Police did not immediately respond to queries about if any of the three people have been arrested, how many shots were fired, or whether any shell casings or guns were found at the scene.

Police directed people away from Church Street between Gross Point Road and Laramie Avenue until around 11:30 a.m., when the facilities returned to normal operations.
The incident appears to have been "isolated" and there is no threat to the public, according to police.

UPDATE: Police said the victim, who was robbed and shot at by a man and a woman, declined to press charges and all three people were released without any charges. A firearm was recovered.
