Skokie Police Lip Sync Challenge Raises The Bar
Skokie police joined the viral police lip sync video challenge. We think their performance might be worthy of a gold medal.
SKOKIE, IL — Cops aren't exactly known for backing down from challenges. In a national climate where relations between police and civilians are as tense as ever, this could be just the challenge we needed: Which police department can make the best lip sync video?
Skokie police posted their submission Saturday, July 28 on YouTube and it rocks. They start off with Officer Ochoa skillfully lip-syncing the start of the beloved "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" theme at a local basketball court.
Ochoa nonchalantly shoots a basket backwards over his head with one hand while rapping along with Will Smith's famous theme. It was a complete miss. He didn't seem to care, though.

After the "Fresh Prince" theme, Skokie cops lip synced to Queen, the Sugar Hill Gang, the Macarena, Psy, N'Sync and tons more.
Soon after the 3:00 mark, one cop in the office springs up in tandem with the other cops, twirling handcuffs skillfully around his finger with some serious rhythm.
And don't forget Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby." Police Chief Anthony Scarpelli leads a group of his cops and employees in the tune, which melds into the Village People's YMCA to finish off the video.
It's this reporter's humble opinion that the Skokie Police Department wins the national challenge.
