Skokie Ranked Among Wealthiest Cities in Midwest

Skokie is the 11th wealthiest city in the Midwest, according to a recent study performed by financial website NerdWallet.

The study, which looked at more than 200 municipalities in the Midwest, used criteria including high incomes, home values and access to credit.

It found the median household income in Skokie is $76,867. The median home value is $255,300 and 35% of homes have no mortgage. The average credit limit for credit card holders in Skokie is $45,716.

The city of Evanston was fourth on the list.
