Skokie Woman Wins Lottery; Wants To Buy House

Peronia George hit the $250K jackpot at a Chicago gas station.

A Skokie woman is planning to buy a house with the $250,000 she won playing the Illinois Lottery.

Peronia George won the prize on a crossword ticket she purchased at Montrose BP, 3201 W. Montrose in Chicago.

“When I scratched my ticket and saw that I won, I was shocked! Even after they double-checked it for me at the store, I still couldn’t believe it,” said George, who presented her winning ticket at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Des Plaines.

George said she plays one $250,000 Crossword ticket each week.

The BP received a bonus of $2,500 - 1 percent of George’s winnings.
