St. Peter’s UCC Annual Rummage and Bake Sale

TWO DAYS of Great Deals!

Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21 from 9:00am to 3:00pm ($5 Bag Sale on Saturday from 1:00pm to 3:00) at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 8013 Laramie Avenue, in Skokie.

St. Peter’s UCC’s huge annual Rummage and Bake Sale returns in 2019 for its 26th year! As part of our continuing effort to support our local community, our Rummage features bargain prices on all sorts of items. Proceeds benefit not only St. Peter’s, but extend to helping out other local charity organizations. In 2018, vases were donated “Random Acts of Flowers;” craft items were donated to The Douglas Center; winter items were kept by St. Peter’s to offer to those who come for Card Day (our monthly assistance program); pillow and bed covers were donated to the Niles Township Food Pantry; winter coats to the Chicago Bears’ Coat Drive through Jewel Stores; and all remaining unsold rummage items were given to the Cancer Federation.

The Rummage Sale includes everything you’d expect: items for children, including clothing and toys, housewares, decorations, books, music, luggage, linens, jewelry, art, collectibles, sporting goods, tools, and games. We have a featured “Boutique Area” filled with higher-end items and collectibles, and one whole room filled with men’s and women’s clothing. Parking is available (street on Friday, Village Hall lot on Saturday), and the church is easily accessible by public transportation. St. Peter’s is located across from the Library and City Hall in downtown Skokie, and is a few blocks west of the Oakton stop on the CTA Yellow Line.

Our famous Bake Sale runs both days again this year, and features homemade treats and goodies from the church’s members, bringing back a classic taste of goodness - cakes and pies, cookies and muffins, all available to take home, or to eat while you shop.

On Saturday at 1 pm is our Bag Sale. Take as many bags as you want from the cashiers, and pay $5 for each bag you fill with as many things as you can. This is a wonderful deal that thrifty shoppers have taken advantage of for many years … it also helps the St. Peter’s crew clean up afterwards.
