Student Charged with Making Threat That Closed 2 Skokie Schools Friday
The 16-year-old boy was also linked to a Sunday threat that targeted a female student at Niles North High School.

SKOKIE, IL - A 16-year-old high school student has been arrested in connection with the threat made Friday morning that closed both Old Orchard Junior High and the Early Childhood Education Center.
The 16-year-old boy called is accused of calling in a threat around 3 a.m. saying he was going to harm a student on Kenton Avenue, according to the Skokie Review. Both Old Orchard Junior High and the Early Childhood Education Center are located on Kenton.

The boy is not being identified because he is a juvenile, but a Skokie School District 68 news release indicated he is a student at a Niles Township High School District 219 school. The district includes Niles West High School, Niles North High School and Niles Central High School.
Police were led to the boy after a similar threat was made on Sunday, one targeted to a female student at Niles North. The suspect is said to have “neither the means nor the intention” to harm anyone.

Both schools that were closed Friday were reopen on Monday under a heightened police presence.
