Suspect Arrested, Charged In Relation To 'Street Dispute' Shooting

A man is facing two felony charges in connection with a no-injury shooting in Skokie.

SKOKIE, IL — Skokie police arrested a man in connection with a no-injury shooting that occurred last week.

Police responded to a shots-fired report in the 5000 block of Church Street at 4:11 p.m. and quickly secured the scene. According to authorities, responding officers made contact with the involved individuals.

According to preliminary investigation results, a firearm was discharged during a "street dispute." The dispute was not domestic-related, police said. Authorities recovered the firearm.

Officers identified the suspect as Michael Evans III following continued investigation. The Cook County State's Attorney's Office reviewed the case and approved two felony charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and reckless discharge of a firearm.

Evans appeared in court for a pre-trial hearing on April 2.
