Truck Leaking Material Causes Delays on Edens Near Skokie

Outbound traffic has been stalled since the truck blocked the right lane of outbound traffic around 6:30 a.m.

SKOKIE, IL - A truck leaking material on the Edens Expressway near the Old Orchard exit in Skokie blocked one lane for nearly an hour during the early Friday morning commute.

The right lane of outbound traffic was closed between 6:45 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. due to the incident, according to a WGN traffic report. Fire crews have responded to the area.

The truck was removed around 7:30 a.m., but heavy delays continue on the expressway between downtown Chicago and Lake Cook Road. Estimated travel time for that section of the Edens is more than 30 minutes, with cars driving an average of 26 miles per hour.
