UPDATE: See Who Won Patch's Athlete of the Week

This Athlete of the Week winner scored 42 goals during his hockey season.

Wiggemansen scored an overtime goal to give Deerfield a 5-4 victory over Wheaton Warrenville South and their second consecutive White Division championship. Wiggemansen had 42 goals on the season and had two goals in the championship game.

HONORABLE MENTION

Allie Managlia, junior, softball, Evanston – Managlia pitched a five-inning shutout to give the Wildkits their first victory of the season in a 12-0 win over Payton. The junior pitcher had double-digit strikeouts and struck out the side on three occasions.

Kristin Reichert, junior, softball, Niles North – Reichert nailed a three-run home run for Niles North in the Vikings’ 6-2 victory over St. Viator. Reichert’s home run came in the seventh inning and helped Niles North improve to 2-3 on the season.

Kevin Hamilton, senior, boys gymnastics, Glenbrook South –Hamilton set a career high of 52.1 in the all-around competition against Maine last week. Hamilton won the pommel horse (9.4), floor exercise (9.0), vault (9.0), high bar (8.5) and still rings (8.5), and took second in the parallel bars (7.7).

Morgan Crane, freshman, girls hockey, New Trier – Crane scored the only goal in New Trier’s 1-0 win against Lake Forest in the state championship. Crane scored her 42nd goal of the season midway through the second period.
