ast week and Glenbrook South's Molly McDonagh claimed the title of Athlete of the Week.
McDonagh had a double-double in the Titans’ 49-41 victory against Evanston, accounting for 12 points and 12 rebounds. The home victory moved Glenbrook South to 4-2 in the Central Suburban League South.
The Glenbrook South basketball star received more than 190 votes or 58 percent.

HONORABLE MENTION:
Michelle Madalinski, senior, girls gymnastics, Maine West – At the Niles North Viking Invitational, Madalinski took first in the uneven bars with a score of 9.35. The senior also took second in balance beam (9.4) to Hersey’s Hannah Bovino.

Jake Norcia, senior, boys basketball, Highland Park – Norcia hit one of the biggest shots of his career when he nailed a half-court buzzer-beater to give the Warriors a 57-54 win at Elk Grove. Norica had 27 points in the contest and helped Highland Park improve 9-6 on the season.
Max Grodecki, senior, boys swimming, New Trier – At the highly competitive Trevian Relays, Grodecki claimed victories in the 50 freestyle (20.89) and 100 free (46.49), helping New Trier to an easy team victory. Grodecki also swam legs on New Trier’s 200 and 400 free relays, both of which took first place and set meet records in the process.
Hailey Hoye, freshman, girls basketball, Oak Park-River Forest – Hoye had her best performance of the season in Oak Park-River Forest’s 65-53 victory over Chicago Academy last week. She led the Huskies with 12 points in the contest and OPRF improved to 7-14 on the year.
