Athlete of the Week for Nov. 14 - Nov. 20:
Lena Munzer is this week's Patch Athlete of the Week. last week, the junior guard for Highland Park's girls basketball team was the runaway winner, capturing more than 65 percent of the vote. Munzer got off to a high-scoring start, pouring in 45 points against Grayslake North in the opening week.

Brittany Collins, sophomore, basketball center, Maine West – The 6-foot center isn’t planning on having any sophomore slumps in her second varsity basketball season as she scored a game-high 20 points in Maine West’s season-opening 55-35 loss to Palatine on Nov. 14. The Warriors will host their Tip-Off Classic tournament later this week.
Mimi Schneider, sophomore, girls swimming, Fenwick –Schneider racked up four victories at Saturday’s state championships, winning the 100-yard butterfly and swimming a leg in all three of Fenwick’s relay teams. Schneider finished the 100 fly in 53.57 seconds, more than one second ahead of runner-up Connie Hsu of Glenbard West. Her performance helped Fenwick take second place as a team.

Rachel Blitt, senior, basketball guard, Glenbrook North – Blitt scored a game-high 18 points in the Spartans’ 60-41 win over two-time defending CSL North champion Highland Park on Nov. 16. Blitt has been a big part of Glenbrook North’s 2-0 start this season after winning only 14 games combined in the previous two years.
Will Palivos, senior, football running back, Loyola Academy –Palivos accumulated 128 yards from scrimmage on Saturday, helping Loyola beat Glenbard North 28-13 and advance to the state championship game for the first time since 1993. The senior running back had a rushing touchdown in the second half as the Ramblers rallied back from a 13-0 halftime deficit.
Lena Munzer, junior, basketball guard, Highland Park – Munzer scored 45 points in Highland Park’s 64-49 win over Grayslake North on Nov. 17 in the Mundelein Thanksgiving Tournament. Through the first three games of the season, Munzer is averaging 32.3 points per game.
