Some Victims' Names Released In Chatham Quadruple Shooting

CHICAGO — Some of the victims who died Sunday evening when two gunmen entered a residence and opened fire on the people inside

The names of two of three victims who died Sunday evening after two gunmen burst into a residence and opened fire, have been released. They are Amere P .Deese, 14, and Ladeverett West, 20, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, two armed men entered a residence in the 8000 block of South Vincennes where they opened fire on the people inside, Chicago police said.

Deese, 14, was pronounced dead at the scene. He died from a gunshot wound to the shoulder. The boy did not reside at the address where the shooting took place.

Ladeverett West, 20, died from multiple gunshot wounds. His address is unknown. Both their deaths were ruled homicides by the Cook County Medical Center.

A 36-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center where he later died Sunday evening.

Witnesses told police that one of the gunmen was known to the victims. Area Two detectives are investigating. No one is in custody.

This was the second mass shooting that took place Sunday. A woman was killed and three others injured when two gunmen fired toward their group at a park in the city's far north Rogers Park neighborhood.
