CHICAGO — A 15-year-old girl managed to escape from a potential kidnapping after being hit several times in the head with a pole in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood.

Around 8 a.m. Friday, a woman, armed with a pole emerged from the alley in the 7500 block of South Jeffrey Boulevard. The woman tried to put a white plastic bag on the teen’s head and then drag her to a car. She hit the teen numerous times in the head with a pole, Chicago police said.

The teen managed to escape, and the women got into the car’s front passenger seat that was already running. Police said the driver could not be seen. The car fled east in the south alley from the 7500 block of South Jeffrey Boulevard.

Police are looking for a black female in her late 20s, 5-feet-2-inches tall and very slim. She was wearing a black jacket.
