2 Brothers Charged In Fatal Shooting Of WGN Security Guard
The brothers, 17 and 22, reportedly wanted to steal Selena Claybourne's car when she stopped to buy gas, prosecutors said.

CHICAGO — Two brothers have been charged in the shooting death of a WGN security guard, Selena Claybourne, 35, when she stopped for gas Monday afternoon at a South Side gas station.
Dameonte Watson, 17, of Chicago, is being charged as an adult with first-degree murder and attempted aggravated vehicular hijacking after police said he shot the 35-year-old mother of two daughters.
The teen’s bother, Gregory Watson, 22, was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder. Prosecutors said the brothers wanted to steal Claybourne’s vehicle, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The younger Watson appeared Wednesday afternoon for a bond hearing at the Leighton Criminal Courts Building, where more details were shared about the slaying.
Just after 3 p.m. Monday, Claybourne stopped by her regular gas station in the on her way home from work. She got back into her vehicle when she finished pumping gas.

Assistant State’s Attorney James Murphy recounted security video, which he said showed the brothers pulling up alongside Claybourne’s vehicle. Both got out of the car and approached Claybourne, the prosecutor said.
The older Watson was captured on security video leaning toward Claybourne’s window, when the prosecutor said he fired at her several times with a gun.
Claybourne suffered gunshot wounds in the left shoulder and face. Police said Claybourne was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
Both brothers were seen running away from the gas station, according to the gas station manager. The vehicle that the brothers exited from drove away after the shooting, according to the Tribune.
Police found two guns and shell casings in the area.
Cook County Judge Barbara Dawkins ordered Dameonte held without bail. Gregory Watson is scheduled to appear in bond court Thursday afternoon.
