4-Year-Old Rescued By SWAT Officers After Standoff: Chicago Police
Charges were pending in the case, according to police.
CHICAGO — A 4-year-old was rescued over the weekend by SWAT officers, who also took a man into custody after the person locked himself in a room with the child, according to Chicago police.
Law enforcement responded around 5:45 p.m. Saturday to a domestic disturbance involving a physical altercation between a 52-year-old man and a woman in the 1800 block of East 95th Street in the Calumet Heights area, police said.
Authorities safely escorted the woman from the home, but SWAT officers were requested after the man locked himself in a room with the boy, according to police.

The SWAT officers entered the home around 9:40 p.m., several hours after the incident began, and retrieved the boy, police said, adding the child was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital as a precaution and was listed in good condition.
